HAMAS IN ITS OWN WORDS
"My message to the loathed Jews is that there is no god but Allah, we will chase you everywhere! We are a nation that drinks blood, and we know that there is no blood better than the blood of Jews. We will not leave you alone until we have quenched our thirst with your blood, and our children's thirst with your blood. We will not leave until you leave the Muslim countries."
"In the name of Allah, we will destroy you, blow you up, take revenge against you, purify the land of you, pigs that have defiled our country... This operation is revenge against the sons of monkeys and pigs."
"I dedicate this wedding [i.e. death for Allah] to all of those who have chosen Allah as their goal, the Quran as their constitution and the Prophet [Muhammad] as their role model. Jihad is the only way to liberate Palestine - all of Palestine - from the impurity of the Jews...
"My dear mother, you who have cared for me, today I sacrifice my life to be your intercessor [on Judgment Day]. O my love and soul, wipe your tears, don't be saddened. In the name of Allah, I've achieve all that I've aspired. Don't let me see you sad on my wedding day with the Maidens of Paradise. So be happy and not sad, because in the name of Allah, after death is merciful Allah's paradise."
"My dear mother, don't cry over us
We have to seek, my mother, the help of Allah
My dear mother, don't cry over us
We have to seek, my mother, the help of Allah"

The invaders fled [Gaza]
The army of the Jews was defeated
The home and the homeland is returning through [Palestinian] blood
Not through negotiations, surrender, or promises
Allah the Great, be pleased by the sound of thunder...!
We will never accept the enemies in the land of our fathers...
The invaders fled [Gaza]
The army of the Jews was defeated
The home and the homeland is returning through [Palestinian] blood
Not through negotiations, surrender, or promises...
Let the enemies leave the entire land!
And take their holy books, which are all black!
Our flag was raised and spread out, O Jihad...!
The invaders fled [Gaza]
The army of the Jews was defeated
The home and the homeland is returning through blood.

"The "calmness" is not a complete halt of the fire; it's a temporary emergency base for rest, due to [different] needs and national interests, in order to evaluate the situation. It is a means to manage the struggle, since when managing a struggle, at times you escalate and at [other] times you clam things down. This is natural, especially since you are not an army, you are a popular rebellion, you are popular resistance, so it is natural you will calm things down whenever you want to, and escalate whenever you want to.
"Especially with the situation of the Palestinian resistance, [which] takes care of the people and it's [living] conditions, and always gives them the opportunity to regularize their breath and get ready for the coming rounds – because our struggle is a long struggle. This is our philosophy of the "calmness." As long as the "calmness" continued, the enemy didn't respect its terms, didn't free the prisoners... So that's why we shall return to the essence of our plan, which is resistance [i.e. terror] to the Occupation.
"As we took Gaza by force, [we should plan] how to forcefully take the rest of the land and [gain] the rest of Palestinian rights...
"The Vietnamese - when did they succeed by negotiations to achieve an American retreat from Vietnam? When America was exhausted by the Vietnam War... Then there was benefit while conducting negotiations...
"[And equally] throughout the years of Arab-Israeli conflict, there is always a rush after negotiations...
"When Israel says it does not acknowledge us, we say, the resistance [i.e. terrorism] needs to be escalated, the strong standing needs to be strengthened, in order to exhaust the enemy. As we forced the enemy out of Gaza, it will also get out of the [West] Bank and out of all our lands. It will face a situation in which he does not have any choice but to retreat...
"No authentic Palestinian can give up his land... But we are realistic, we understand the balance of powers in struggle, and we understand that the liberation of the land demands stages and demands time. Right now we took Gaza by force, and tomorrow we shall take the [West] Bank by force, and it will require conditions, sacrifices - that’s clear. But more compromises will not lead to liberation; more negotiation will not lead to liberation. But more sacrifices will lead to liberation, step by step. We are asked about [the borders of] '67. If Israel will retreat to the borders of '67, will we say no? But in any case we will not give up the rest of our Palestinian right, and not acknowledge the legitimacy of the Occupation [i.e. Israel within in the '49 borders] and not the legitimacy of Israel."
[Al-Arabbiya (taken from Hamas website), January 23, 2006]
"The Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades considers its effort as part of the resistance chain that has been active since the British Mandate against the filth of Palestine.
"In light of this understand, the Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades aims to liberate Palestine and to restore the rights of the Palestinian people under the sacred Islamic teachings of the Holy Koran."
[Hamas website, January 2006]
"We have a new plan; to teach men the land of Palestine; the geography of Palestine; the history of Palestine; and the history of the Arab and Muslim Nation. Our plan has nothing to do with the Israeli enemy. We do not recognize the Israeli enemy, nor his right to be our neighbor, nor to stay [on the land], nor his ownership of any inch of land. Therefore, we do not see [Israel] as an ally, not in policy, not in security, not in economy and not in any form of cooperation. Israel is an enemy who is interested in uprooting us, and we are interested in restoring our full rights to return all the people of Palestine to the land of Palestine. Our principles are clear: Palestine is a land of Waqf [Islamic trust], which can not be given up."

"In a silence filled with tears, with a mother's warm longing, his mother hugged him goodbye at length. Planting the parting kiss on his cheeks before their final parting, ordering him not to return to her except as a shahid.
The last moments of Um Nidal with her son, the youngest Shahada-seeker [the boy was 17-years-old - Ed.]"
Um Nidal: "I gave my son to Jihad for Allah. It is our religious obligation. If I wanted to have compassion for him, or to make him change his mind, it could be wrong, a mistake. I don't want to be guided by my feelings, a mother's feelings. I put them aside for a while for something greater. Although, this is connected to a mother's feelings. Why? Because I love my son and I want to choose the best for him. And the best is not life in this world. For us, there is the Afterlife, the eternal bliss. So if I love my son, I will choose eternal bliss for him."
[Hamas website, December 2005]
"We succeeded, with Allah's grace, to raise an ideological generation that loves death like our enemies love life. We will not abandon the way of Jihad and Shahada [Martyrdom] as long as one inch of our holy land is in the hands of the Jews.
"Congratulations to our people of 1948 [Israeli Arabs] on the liberation of Gaza. You wish to destroy them [the Israelis] from their interior. We will never forget you, and never leave you. A day will come when our flag will fly above all the quarters of our land. Our flag will fly on the minarets of Jerusalem, and the walls of Acre, and [in] the quarters of Haifa."
[Raed Said Hussein Saad (Abu Muadh), Commander, North Gaza, Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas website, December 12, 2005]
"The suicide bombing of Reem Riyashi brought a change in the Jihad operations with the participation of women, so a mother no long stops her son when he goes to battle in Jihad operations.
Ahmad Yassin [former spiritual head of Hamas]: "We seek Shahada [Martyrdom]. We seek the eternal life, not the worthless worldly life."
Ismaeil Haniya [Hamas head in Gaza]: "Continue the resistance [terror], keep your weapon, the legitimate weapon of the resistance. Beware not to abandon it! Hamas will continue to be, Allah willing, a home for all Palestinian and Jihad fighters that want to fight for the sake of Allah [and] for the liberation of our land... The Zionist withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the northern West Bank is the first step in the liberation of the rest of our occupied land."
Muhammad Deif [Commander of Hamas' terrorist wing]: "Today you are leaving Gaza because it is a hell. Tomorrow we will make all of Palestine a hell for you.
Hamas website, August 2005
Muhammad Deif: "Without this Jihad, this effort, this forbearance and fighting on the frontier, Gaza wouldn't have been liberated. I pray to [Allah] to assist us and to assist you in liberating Jerusalem, the West Bank, Acre, Haifa, Jaffa, Safed, Nazareth, Ashkelon, and the whole of Palestine."
[Hamas websites, August & October 2005. Acre, Haifa, Jaffa, Safed, Nazareth and Ashkelon are wholly within the pre-1967 borders of Israel - Ed.]
